paris is freaking magical you guys.

-- i just got home from fish lake, which was the bomb.
-- i miss europe.
-- but i love america too.
-- arrested development.
-- i'm leaving on my mission in a month + 2 days.
-- i'm also dating a boy named sam and he is really great, which makes the previous thing a little more difficult than it was a few months ago.


life is crazy and wonderful and embarrassing and scary and hard.

jack actually acknowledged my presence when i went home today which is good because that is getting rarer the longer i live away from home.

last night i was washing my face and i hit my head on the faucet but don't worry i'll be ok and i also listened to sam's town last night and i cried a little bit because it's really pretty.

i also heard this song called nicaragua and then i thought about nicaragua and the boy that is there and i got sad a little because he is in the jungle and mail is really slow but then i got happy again because he is the best.

i accidentally left a can of diet coke in the car and this morning it was totally frozen and i still tried to drink it and frozen coke chunks don't taste that great and right after that i dropped a handful of quarters and they all landed heads up so i think i'm a wizard.

sunday night blues

thanksgiving break was most awesome. 

and right now i sort of have the sunday night blues x10.

do you get the sunday night blues?

the weekend is winding down, and everything you have to do the coming week enters your brain and you get a little stressed and depressed.

and then you have to go to bed at a normal hour because you have to get up at sunrise,

when all you really want to do is stay up late watching movies.

that doesn't happen to you every sunday night? oh, just me then. cool.

happy october

yesterday we stopped at fish lake on our way home from cedar city (where we watched two really amazing plays). i've been to fish lake about 20 times in my life, but always in the summer. it's beautiful in the fall too.

i'm starting to get this urge to make a lot of fall-inspired art. if only i had the time to cut out a lot of tiny pieces of orange paper and cardboard and glue them together. consequently, i'll probably just be posting a lot of fall-inspired art created by other people on my blog. i'm also wanting to watch every halloween movie. and go see the dancing skeleton.

completely separate from that: i have this really wise professor. wiser than dumbledore, i daresay. i always leave his class with my mind going 1000 miles per hour (and going loudly,  i might add). i have never thought so hard about life and humanity and literature and films and my own behavior and attitudes and beliefs before taking that class. it's causing me to examine everything i do and read and view and observe and create. and it can be exhausting. and totally humbling at the same time. now just articulating all my thoughts into words...

that was a lot of words for only one picture. if you made it through the whole thing, i commend you.

these days

i stayed up till 4 last night talking to my roommates janae and rach (after we had already watched 3 movies and eaten gooey brownies out of the pan with a fork). it's fun living with them again.

and that picture of me is a representation of how i felt about every vending machine being out of cookies and cream milk all week.

i did a post here for a class, if you want to see some images i created in response to this song. yeah, my major is fun.

i'm loving midnight city and outro by m83. cool band. and i got letters. you know how i feel about getting letters. especially when they come from reese. yeeee!<-- (that is the sound liesl makes after rolf kisses her in sound of music.)

i saw a cute couple at walmart today buying kitty litter.

2. stores do not sell pop rocks anymore. i went to 4 different stores looking for them today. so if you come across some pop rocks, buy them all and keep them in a safe place.

4. i miss the skype dates. and the real-life ones too.

i have. sometimes it feels like my brain and heart are too full and i can't organize myself well enough to articulate any one thought. that's today.

it's been busy over here lately.

here are my confetti nails:

i borrowed the glitter from kylie. it's saweeet. but also really sticky. so this may be permanent.

and my word of advice for the day is turn the sound off on your iphone/itouch before going to class. or else you might be going to check your email and accidentally tap the temple run app instead. which then makes really loud monkey screeching sounds in the middle of class.

waking up is so hard. so hard.

my nemeses.

i think nemeses is the plural version of nemesis....

1. wet socks. enough said.

2. used bandaids. on the ground. in the garbage. floating in a swimming pool. anywhere. if i can see them, they are my nemesis.

3. chemistry. and all other science classes that i'm currently in.

4. portia di rossi. not really. i quite like her. but i have a reoccurring dream where she is trying to end me. true story.

and happy ides of march! (happy?). i celebrated by going to a shakespeare play, not by hanging out with ryan gosling.

thoughts

when i get ideas for potential blog posts, i usually jot them down in a draft. there are a bunch of those baby ideas that i probably will never write into full posts. so here's a taste of what could have been:

i ate a kumquat for the first time today and it was real goooood. they are like baby oranges.

if i could switch with someone for a day, i think i would choose kate middleton.

is it just me, or do owen wilson and ellen degeneres look really similar...

maybe my life revolves around food.

i just want to make nice things and have a nice husband and be happy.

i spent $5.24 in the past two weeks. that's cool.

i like adam levine. mostly his voice. his face is good too.

confessions. and a funny thing.

the funny thing first:

it caught me off guard. i didn't know the altoids people were funny.

confession 1: i would love nothing more than to watch the justin bieber movie right now.

confession 2: i listened to fawkes the phoenix from hp2 today and got the chills and almost felt like crying because it is so beautiful and i love harry potter.

update

i'm in the middle of the film major application process. it's crazy, people. craaazy. plus i have all my usual homework and editing that tv show. it'll be a busy week.

i've been thinking about my future a lot lately. i have a lot of stuff i want to do in my life. like study abroad. and live in a different state for a while. and become really good at yoga.

also, i got an insane desire to go somewhere warm today (even though this winter has been remarkably warm) with a palm trees and a pool and where the sidewalk burns your bare feet.

i'm off to do some more studying. keep it real everyone.

just sitting here. wearing plaid. doing my research paper.

i found a website that reads a list of diseases in whatever accent you want. computerized australian accent. ha.

my orchestra class ended half an hour early. the fire alarm went off and we had to evacuate.

screams just exploded from my kitchen. my roommates are watching jim and pam kiss for the first time.

saturday.

on saturday mornings, i have a lab where i go watch the movie of the week for my film class so i can write a paper on it.

let's just say that stacie and clinton would throw a huge fit if they saw what i wore to those...

totally unrelated:

i'm in love with almond joys. i'm addicted and i just can't get enough.

and last night i found out that jcw's makes an almond joy shake! i gotta try one of those as soon as possible. i'll probably die from delicious overload.
