here are things that made me happy every day in march:

driving with the windows down, nachos, eating chicken nuggets in radio, packing, vintage, cities, pencil skirts, sour cream and cheddar ruffles, rain, wearing those red boots (even though they don't match with anything), "love notes", watching soccer, unblock me, the smell of nutmeg, german chocolate, when "party in the usa" comes on the radio, peanut m&ms, my scarf, old photographs, fruit leathers, eating brown sugar out of the bag, brightly colored doors, a good day at golf, watching high school sports at night, goldfish, kirsten, sweet potato fries, wearing tall socks to sleep, sandwiches, no homework, friends that try to teach me related rates

be happy.

Change.

As you may have noticed, there is a new picture up there.
It was time for a change.
We'll see how long it stays.

Today, we were rockstars.

May I say, nothing sucks away self-esteem quite like practice AP tests.

These helped a bit.
If you ever feel down, take a little drive down University Avenue to the Sweet Tooth Fairy and pick up a few of these.
Believe us, it helps.

Crushin'

I have a crush.

Actually, I have many.

I'm crushing on Vampire Weekend, the scriptures,
red boots, big trees, and orange juice.

Les Mis, fresh notebooks, summer nights,
and cobblestone sidewalks make me feel twitterpated.

I have the hots for quilts, airports,
documentaries, and twist icecream cones.

I'm in love.

And life is good.

Guru's. Not Zuru's.

Yesterday we went to Guru's in Provoto get these bad boys.
And they were soooo good.
Sweet potato fries are the best thing that ever happened to a vegetable.
P.S. The music at Guru's is a few decibels too loud.
By "a few" I really mean WAY too loud.
Like blow out your eardrums loud.
I'm ok with being deaf as long as I get sweet potato fries out of it.

dream job.

I figured out what to do with my life today.
I'm going to make videos like this and this and this.
I think I'm set; all I need is a crane, some people to film, and a cool name for my production company.

on the radio

Will added a little message to the sound board in the radio room:
I chuckled when I read it. Will is funny.

MLIA.

Today in math I got an itch on my neck. I scratched it. A couple seconds later, my perfume began to smell particularly strong. I am a human scratch-and-sniff.

Teachers' pet

On my way to golf, I saw a kid jogging...
while reading a history text book.
If that isn't efficient, I don't know what is.

Knitting Bee

"And what am I supposed to do for three days? Sit home and knit?"

Well, actually yeah.

That little monster guy rides in the car with me now.
He makes for nice company.

*Sidenote: Today I learned that it is impossible to score less than a one on the AP calculus test. I'm pretty sure I'll still get a zero.

Spring!

It finally feels like spring!
I even walked home from church today.
*and yep that's me, at the tender age of one.

you know you are cool when:

- you accidentally brush your teeth with soap

- you burn your neck with the curling iron so you have a "hickey;" and then your seminary teacher says, "oh, i see you went on a date last night."

- you trip up the stairs

- you spend your friday night knitting and playing unblock me

- you are DOUBLE cool if all of the above happens to you in the same day

I guess this means I'm cool. Scratch that. I'm double cool.

how cool are these?

we found them while putting together a photo book for my grandparents' anniversary.

thoughts on a thursday

Today wasn't easy.
My Gryffindor scarf is complete.
I really like that Microsoft Word automatically capitalizes the word "Gryffindor."
Calculus is hard.
Van Dijk is nice. And helpful, unlike most teachers at the end of the term.
March Madness and HOSA are the captors of my friends this week.
And that bracket is really hard to fill out for someone who has zero background knowledge.
I really like truffles. But it takes me 2 months to eat a bag of the Lindt kind.
"This totally counts! It's a fetching shamrock!" - Kati Briggs
"Ok. I don't care if you know who FDR is. But I do care that you know who Snoop Dogg is." - Mr. Beck
"In the words of Snoop Dogg, 'Let that just marinate in your minds for a little bit.'"- Mr. Beck
Mr. Beck really likes Snoop Dogg.
This week has seriously been long.
Carrie and Jenna's blog is real cute. I like it.
It really blows when you chip and hit the pin, and then it takes you two putts to get it in.
"I Can't Stay" by the Killers is sooo good. I've listened to it like 12 times today.
I feel like watching all the old classic Disney movies and Chitty Chitty Bang Bang.
I would give anything to go to Hogwarts.
I wish I could wear those red boots every day.
One time I went to Hawaii and it was really pretty.
K see ya.

Welcome...

...to the coolest hang out in the state of Utah.
The Beehive Tea Room in downtown SLC.
While on our exotic orchestra tour to the big city, we found ourselves with 8 hours to do whatever we pleased. We opted to check out the Beehive Tea Room, because the Rockstar Diaries said we should. Carrie and I are loyal followers/stalkers of said blog. It turned out to be the best part of tour for me. Vintage furniture/big band music/books/delicate goodies are what make up the place. Totally speaking my language.

I hope to one day have a parlor decorated like this. So cool.

We were real excited to be there.
Carrie and I are planning on opening a tea shop like this on Pleasant Grove's main street.
Watch for it. It'll happen.

Be Ok.

"Be ok" has sort of been my theme song for these past few weeks. My life has been crazy. I've had to make 5 movies, go to golf practice every day, keep up with all my other classes, do a fetching ton of biology and calculus homework, get up on time for morning seminary, go on orchestra tour, do an online financial literacy course, study for the ACT, and try to have a social life. One day last week when my alarm went off at 5:15, I literally said aloud, "I have to do this." It's hard not to just collapse on the floor after school everyday. I usually do, but only to get up 10 minutes later and drive to Fox Hollow for golf practice. I just want to be ok, be ok, be ok. I just want to be ok today...

Thanks for being a good sport and letting me write on your face, Kirsten.
And here's a shout out to my boy Rupert. He made the Wonderwall's top 10 hottest redheads of all time. love you.

Drama drama drama

I've been reading my past journals lately. (No, this is not an excerpt from Junie B. Jones).

March 18th, 2003
"Today Mckelle and Jordan did a survey of which letter people liked best, "G" or "T". I said "G" because I have a "G" in my middle name and I have no "T"s. It turned out to be "Girlie-girls" and "Tomboys." Everyone was laughing at me. They said "Ha, ha, you are a girlie-girl and all of us are tomboys! Girlie-girl, Girlie-girl!" It hurt my feelings really bad."

Oh, 4th grade.

Good thing I wasn't too deeply affected by this event.

It would be nice if we still dressed like this...

Marion Cotillard makes the 30s look so good.

jack-in-the-box

This is my kitty, Jack.
He loves his box more than anything.

Here we see a Jack-in-the-box in its natural habitat.

new music.

Watch this video. Right now. You will love it.
It's by a local band called The Archer's Apple. I'm kind of obsessed with it at the moment.

You know who else is good? The Kooks. Carrie introduced me to them over the weekend. I like "Love it All" and "Shine On" quite a lot.

Also, if I don't get this cd soon, I'm going to blow a fuse:

I am a Mythbuster.

Myth: Male Betta fish are agressive. We put my new{ish} goldfish in with my old betta fish expecting a fight to the death. But, these two have been happily living together for over 48 hours now. A bit of a disappointment, really.

Myth: busted.

Nice.

I'm glad I have people like Kassie around.
I had a few bad moments today, and I came to golf a little bit pouty.
When Kassie found out I was having a bad day, she proceeded to tell me a bunch of good things about myself. Even though she came to golf a little bit pouty, too, she still cheered me up.
That's a nice girl.

3 things:

Item #1- Happy March {finally}!
Even though February is the worst month of them all, here is the list of things that made me happy:

sleeping in, hugs, cake batter, venus fly traps, cabins, friends, my silky bed, Sondre Lerche, dried mangoes, drummers, phone calls with my pals, Nicole, speed skating, the olympics, chocolate chip cookies, flood-it, Shaun White, hashbrowns, "h yeah, beb", Cade, the olympics (again), turkey sandwiches, tetris, cereal, Kelly Clarkson, sleeping till 11:30 on a school day, Amy Smithson, & ripping my pants off

Item #2 - Today is Ron Weasley's birthday. Not Rupert, but Ronald. It's ok to have a mad crush on a fictional wizard, right? Item #3 - Golf starts today! Yay!
by the way, this might be the most awkward picture of me ever to grace this blog. enjoy.
