my brain is tired

I'm so scatterbrained lately.
It seems like too much is going on.
But at the same time, nothing is happening that's worth blogging about.
Just too much going on in my head, I guess.

I'm in the mood to go to Sammy's in Provo.
Nothing sounds better than a pie shake, sweet potato fries, and a polaroid wall.

on the radio

We're in radio class.
Photobooth is sometimes all we do.
Last year, we had to take a picture of ourselves every day. It was neat to see yourself change through a school year.
Well, it would have been cool if I actually did change.
Today, I'm wearing a shirt I got in the 7th grade. {see above photo}.
I'm now in the 12th grade. Still fits me just fine. Cool.

She said it best.

Read it on this blog, who read it on this blog.
I can't say it any better than this:

"Most of us, if not all, can relate to the love hate relationship with the blogging world. The unique people (love) the fakeness (hate) the talent and inspiration (love) then feeling like a lame-o (hate) the great stories (love) the rude comments (hate) the hours of entertainment (love) how much time I can waste on the computer (hate) making connections (love) feeling plain or inadequate (hate) the creativity (LOVE) the "competition" (hate) the opportunities to learn (love).

The slipperiest slope of all for me though is the "wanting." Wanting the stuff I don't need, wanting to be somewhere I'm not. Wanting to be a little more stylish, beautiful, wittier, more interesting, talented or whatever. What I really want is to be happy to LOVE and grow. I truly do find so much inspiration daily of ways to find and create the joy in my life through the people in the blog world. It is a tough balance to not get carried away with "missing out" on the things I wish I were or had."

feeling kind of girly

Just browsing Real Simple.
Here are some of my favorite photos today.

Hello, red hair. I love you.

It's really too bad I detest cooking so much.
Because I absolutely have a dish fettish.

Maybe one day I'll wear lipstick and look as hot as them.

I can see myself with a room like this in my house one day. Warm.

Carnations are my very favorite flower.
"Filler flower"? Please. They are gorgeous.
And that's what heaven will smell like.

Ah, another ginger. Looking super posh in front of a pretty house.

Quite liking these pretty things today.

the X factor

Yeah, I know I posted a video recently.
But the lip sync at school yesterday made me think of this little episode of the X factor.
You just need to watch the guy the whole time. Hilarious.

sometimes you have to wonder about some people..
and happy weekend! woo!

this hurt my heart a little bit

"When I get married," said Fred, tugging at the collar of his own robes, "I won't be bothering with any of this nonsense. You can all wear what you like, and I'll put a full Body-Bind curse on Mum until it's all over."

so sad.
Fred will never get a wedding.

pretty lil picnic in the mountains

Part of me thinks I should live in a little secluded cottage in the mountains.
My husband will be a lumberjack, and we'll wear plaid e'ry day.

see ya

I'm ready to go on a long vacation.
Because mostly, high school isn't that cool.

Some words and phrases that make me want to scream lately:
grade point average
act score
application
graduation requirements
percentage
scholarship
resume

I think I'll go somewhere far away. I might be gone . . . 3 weeks.

I wish.

tokyo reunion

That day, I was a ghost. And I bugged Ryan because he is a mortal.
I like Ryan. We have never been on a date, but we basically consider ourselves a married couple by now.
Hey, remember when all the lacrosse boys bleached that stripe on the side of their heads?
I thought it was cool.
photo stolen from kati. she takes really neat pictures.

harry potter world: part 9 . . . i think

The Three Broomsticks

So so so so perfect inside. Down to every detail.
Disregard that I look slightly deranged in this photo,
but
I can say I drank a butterbeer inside The Three Broomsticks.

love it all

I've been listening to this cd a lot this week. I love every song on it.
And the guy's voice is really soothing to me for some reason.
Want a sample?
Here's a good one. And this one too.

I had never touched a real live missionary before.

Ever read 1000 Awesome Things?
It's really, well, awesome.

Today, a few things happened that deserve to be on the list of 1000 awesome things.

{A song came on that I didn't think I knew. But somehow I knew every single word. Or rather, my subconcious knew all the words. And I sang it all. And I knew when the key change was. Weird, but awesome.

{I wore my mocassins. Oh man, I love my mocassins. They make me feel like a champion. Awesome.

{Kirsten, Eryn, Kassie, and I were driving down the road when we passed a few missionaries walking on the side walk. I rolled down the window and waved at them and yelled "Wahoo! Missionaries!" because that's what we do around here. Then, one of them ran in to the road and up to the car and gave me a high five as we drove past. Let me tell you, getting a high five at 25 miles per hour is dang awesome.

Let's be awesome every day.

there's nothing you can do that can't be done.

I guess I got kind of crafty today.
Love is all you need.
poor quality photo. sorry about it.

awkward.

Once upon a time I was a sophomore. In my advanced video class that year, we made a short film called "Awkward Moments." I was cast as the female lead against my will.

I had to do a lot of awkward things. Such as walking into the boy's bathroom and running into Sean Tanner, getting denied a high five, Sean McClellan stroking my leg, and getting called to the office to take my diarrhea medication.

A few weeks after the film was completed, people at school started giving me weird looks in the halls and at lunch.

Oh, they saw the movie.

Then, one day, a boy yelled across the lunch room, "Hey! You're the awkward girl!"

Great. That was probably a bad way to start my high school career.

Tuesday, September 14, 2010

oh la la.

Sometimes in french class, my teacher plays videos he's recorded on his trips to France.
It makes me crazy to watch them. I have to go there sometime in my life.
I have to go see the Eiffel Tower light up at night.
I have to take the boat tour on the Seine.
I have to eat a pastry for breakfast at a cute little cafe.
I have to go to the top of the Arc De Triomphe.
One day, babe.

photo taken by my père.
that means dad.

double-take

I saw this picture on a cup of jo yesterday. It kind of freaked me out, because I thought it was me.I'm pretty sure that's exactly what I look like from the back. Weird.

it's a real shame. . .

that none of the diagrams on the ACT look like this:
I'd get a 36, no problem.

thought stew.

"A lady's imagination is very rapid; it jumps from admiration to love, from love to matrimony in a moment."
- Pride and Prejudice. So true, Mr. Darcy.

I started Catching Fire yesterday. I prefer Gale.

This grey jacket I'm wearing. . . Best $11.50 I've ever ever spent.

I'm taking the ACT for the 4th time this weekend. Boo.

If you don't love Chuck already, here's a reason to love it: the soundtrack. Best TV show soundtrack I've ever heard. Spoon, the Kooks, Band of Horses, the Shins, Eels, Bon Iver, Vampire Weekend, etc. Chuck, I love you.

Okay. Have a good night everybody.

i should be a geography major.

I love maps and globes.
I. Love. Them.
I can look at them for hours and never get bored.
And they make for some rad accessories.
You know what I want?
One of these scratch maps. You scratch off places you've been. Ahh, so cool.
When I have a house of my own, there will be maps upon every wall and a globe on every shelf.

harry potter world: part 8

A few pictures from inside Hogwarts:
There's the entrance to the Gryffindor common room. The Fat Lady poses when you take her picture.
The entrance to Dumbledore's office.
Portraits all over the walls of the corridors. Portraits that talk to other portraits. Coolest thing ever.
Defense Against the Dark Arts classroom.

There they are, my best friends, inside the DADA classroom. They talk to you as you walk through. . . saying things from the books. It's so magical.

More Hogwarts pictures to come.

danny gave me a love note the other day:

he made that heart out of a dum dum wrapper.
aww. how thoughtful.

Friday, September 3, 2010

i've got about 500 meself.

Today was weird.
I woke up in a completely terrible mood.
Usually I'm just in a neutral mood until about 11:00 am.
Not today. I had a rough start.
And it kind of carried throughout the day.

So, to make myself feel better, I opened the chocolate frog I got in Harry Potter world.
The trading card?
Rowena Ravenclaw. Aww yeah.
Wit beyond measure is a man's greatest treasure.

That pretty much fixed my day right up.

not a pageant girl.

#44 - Dinner (MANDATORY) for candidates, judges, and MC's, interviews follow
#15 - One person is allowed in the dressing room to help you.
#48 - There will be 3-4 judges who will judge you for the night.
#19 - all skits will be performed live, on-stage (no video skits)
#26 - Judges will be evaluating your confidence and grace
while listening to your biography as you walk.

Is this really necessary?
What a cruel world we live in.

comme ci comme ca

My french is coming a long really well, thanks for asking.

Now i can say:

Hello, my name is Julian.
I'm ten years old.
I live in Ayse, France.
I love the kayak.

I also know about some french slang.
You know how in english we say things like, "Oh, there are like a million flavors." or "It is a million degrees out here." or "The book is a million times better than the movie."
In french, they would say "Oh, there are like 36 flavors." or "It is 36 degrees out here." or "The book is 36 times better than the movie."

Kind of cool.
