I did it! I wrote down something I love or that makes me happy every single day of 2010! What a feat.

All 365 things are here. (in case you have 10 minutes you are trying to kill and/or want to learn a lot about me)

twenty ten

Since everyone else in the whole blogosphere is summing up 2010, I guess I will too. In my family, we fill out "personal summaries" at the end of the year, so here is mine:

What I have been doing this year at home, church, work, and/or school:
Junior/Senior at PG. Early morning seminary president Junior year. KPGR radio president senior year. Varsity golf, 30 on the ACT, cello. Laurels first counselor. Keeping a comfortably messy room. Making plenty of videos. Blogging.

Vacations I went on: Las Vegas, Salt Lake City for orchestra tour (ha! doesn't really count), Cedar City, St. George, Fish Lake, Fort Lauderdale Florida, Orlando Florida - Universal Studios Harry Potter World!

Favorite books and movies this year:
Books: Harry Potter (always), Life of Pi, Diary of a Wimpy Kid.
Movies: Inception, Sherlock Holmes, Harry Potter 7 pt 1, Iron Man 2, 500 Days of Summer, Tangled. also, I started watching Chuck, which is the greatest.

The best thing about this year was:
Harry Potter World! Aaah, that was unreal. The whole Florida vacation was the best. HP7 premiere. Starting to actually be good at golf. Being a senior=little or no homework.

The worst thing about this year was:
applying for college, AP calculus, not passing any AP tests, not winning the UCCU short film competition, bronchitis, taking the ACT a million times

Accomplishments, achievements, awards, new interests or hobbies:
Finally getting a good ACT score. Finally finishing online Financial Literacy.
Took a picture almost every day of summer vacation. Wrote down what made me happy every single day of the year.
Started playing the ukulele. Fell in love with Food Network.

New Years Resolution for 2011:
Make more videos. Graduate. Learn to cook things.

Bring on 2011. It sounds promising.

i do a lot of posts like this.

I hope the man I'm going to marry likes to play monopoly.
And is good at it, so he poses a real threat.

Tom Hardy, who plays Eames in Inception, is really handsome and has a hot accent.
(it's so cliche to love men with accents. oh well. swoon).
Aaand, he was the second choice to play Mr. Darcy, right behind Matthew MacFadyen.
He would have been phenomenal.

I feel like I'm ready to be done with high school,
but I don't feel ready to go on to college yet.
I need a year off.

I'm not sure why I'm so amused by this...
Have you seen Julie & Julia?
Some guy named Lawrence is watching that movie every day for a year and blogging about it.
Ha!
Here it is.

I just listened to Total Eclipse of the Heart about 8 times in a row.

MASH

This is my husband, Zachary Levi. He's a surgeon.
I'm a TV/film editor. It's a great job, and it allows me to be home with our 3 kids.
We went on our honeymoon to France. It was lovely.
We ride Razor scooters everywhere. Very eco-friendly.

We live in Virginia. This is our house. It's from the colonial era, but we've restored it.
And last but not least, this is our puppy.
We named him Chuck.
Thank you, MASH, for giving me a perfect life.

playing with a new app at in-n-out

I realized that I rarely post pictures of myself.. oops.
Well, that's what I look like.
My teeth are larger than average and those highlights are all natural.

And I think I should change that new profile picture.
It was brought to my attention that I look like a myspace floosie. Niice.

in real life

What is it? Is it frustrating that you can't be with this person? That there's something keeping you apart? That there's something about this person that you really connect with? And whenever you're near this person, you don't know what to say, and you say everything that's in your mind and in your heart, and you know that if you could just be together, this person would help you become the best possible version of yourself?

a little bit funny

You know Open Arms by Journey? Great song.
Try replacing the word "open" with "broken."

So now I come to you with broken arms,
Nothing to hide, believe what I say.
So here I am with broken arms,
Hoping you'll see what your love means to me.
Broken arms.

Bahaha. Imagining that in my mind is so much better now.

winter kid

Does it seem like people that are born in the winter seem to enjoy winter more? Whilst kids born in the summer seem to prefer that warmer time of year?

It's a weird hypothesis. Here is why I think this:

I am a January baby. I love winter. I look better and am more comfortable when I'm bundled up in a sweater and boots than I do in a sundress. Actually, I don't wear sundresses, but this is probably why. My sister Kirsten is also a December baby, and she looks really cute while she skis, etc.

My sister Kylie, on the other hand, was born in June. She doesn't look so good on the slopes (her words, not mine). But put her and my mom (also June) on the beach, and they are totally in their element.

Maybe this is a weird coincidence in my family. Maybe it's really true.

please toby, it's christmas

tree

Isn't this tree in our yard so cute?
I've always liked it.
And I especially like how it looks with snow on the branches.
One year I want to get a real Christmas tree.
It'll probably have to be when I have a house of my own.

double-feature

I'll be watching these tonight.
I love Christmas Break!

the other night

I had a dream I was in a big room with little or no gravity.
I was doing flips and swimming through the air and having the time of my life.
It was one of the coolest dreams I have ever had.
I think it could have been my mind preparing to watch this again...
Love that movie.
And anti-gravity dreams.

Christmas lights everywhere! I actually keep them up in my room all year.

This picture. Julie Andrews is my favorite, and everyone loves Audrey.

anything is possible if you just believe

Texting
December 13th

Kylie: Watching "He's Just Not That Into You."
Jessie: Good one. I'd take Ben Affleck every day of the week.
Kylie: For real. But he loves Jennifer Garner for real. But I do NOT like Scarlett. AT ALL.
Jessie: She is ruining everyone's lives. Including Ryan's probably. Ryan should have been dating Rachel McAdams. They're both Canadian.
Kylie: They would be the most attractive couple of all time.

...about 8 hours later...

What? That's right. Called it.
Kylie and I have been plotting to break Ryan and Scarlett up for quite some time now. A direct quote actually:
"I am willing to destroy their marriage." - Kylie

This just goes to show that anything can happen if you wish it hard enough.

This also goes to show that Kylie and I need to stop calling celebrities by their first names. And that maybe we should sort out our priorities.

big kurst

This is my little sister.
Her name Kirsten Tara.
We're 23 months apart.
She's my best friend.
And it's her 16th birthday.

To celebrate her 16 years, I asked her 16 questions. She's pretty funny. Enjoy.

Q: If you could live in any foreign country for a year, which would you choose?
A: Hh, I really don't know. France. or Greece.

Q: What is your favorite kind of wood?
A: Oooh. Ash. I don't really know what it looks like, but that's what my wand would be made of. I hope it's pretty.

Q: Snog, date, dump: Voldemort, Wormtail, and Igor Karkaroff?
A: I couldn't snog Karkaroff, cuz his teeth are from the other side... (?) Snog Voldemort, and date Wormtail. Dump Karkaroff.

Q: What do you want to be when you grow up?
A: Optometrist. And a mother.

Q: What are your top three favorite musical artists?
A: There are a lot. But at the current time, I'd say Regina and Coldplay and The Killers.

Q: If you could pick any fictional character to marry, who would you choose?
A: Captain Awesome from Chuck.

Q: If you could have 3 wishes, what would they be?
A:
1) That the wizarding world was real and that I was at Hogwarts as a student.
2) That I could have a really good singing voice.
3) And probably that I could find the perfect man for me and go to the celestial kingdom with him. I guess that should be #1...

Q: Who/what is your inspiration?
A: Jesus. It's true. Other than that? Mom... and... yeah.

Q: What are you afraid of?
A: Creepy priests, like the one in hunchback. And suffocating. Like being locked in a room while the oxygen level drops to zero, or like quicksand. But if I saw a boggart I don't know what it would turn into. It would probably just surround with me those creepy statues like in the graveyard on Phantom of the Opera. Oh! and I'm really afraid of the KKK. That would actually probably be the boggart.

Q: What is your idea of the perfect date?
A: Finger foods that aren't hard to eat. Something fun like the zoo, where you don't have to entertain yourselves. So like the zoo or a museum or mini golf.

Q: If you could only choose 4 TV shows to watch for the rest of your life, which would they be?
A: Chuck, Modern Family, Iron Chef America, The Office.

Q: What is your favorite article of clothing?
A: My red boots and my Kirsten necklace.

Q: What is your quest?
A: Uh.. to... succeed? Oh! To find the holy grail.

Q: If you weren't named Kirsten, what would you want your name to be?
A: probably just Kirsten, but spelled Kjerstin.

Q: So, your husband. Whose voice would you want him to have? (poorly constructed sentence..)
A: Alan a Dale (Joe Armstrong). I just love his voice. And I was thinking if my ipod had a voice, I would want it to be his.

Q: What do you hope to accomplish as a 16 year old?
A: I want to try crab and like it, and I want to be able to lift 50 lbs over my head (?), and I want to paint my room.

Happy Birthday Kirsten! You so cool.

tiger?

In my Popular Literature class, we had an assignment about our "inner animal."
Inner animal? That is basically a patronus, right? Yes.
So, for the assignment, we had to take the "animal in you" test.

Remember how I thought my patronus was a tiger?
Well the result I got from the test was

a prairie dog.

That is kind of a lame patronus if you ask me. So I'll be sticking with a tiger.
Harry could choose to be in Gryffindor, so I'm choosing my own patronus.

But you can take the test here, if you like. Knock yourself out. It's kind of cool, and maybe you'll actually like the animal you get.

bane. but not the centaur.

one of my favorite phrases to use:
"______ is the bane of my existence."

but i don't really have too many opportunities to use it.

i can say that public bathrooms and calculus and dishonest people and the smell of bleach and wet socks are the bane of my existence,
but that is pretty much it.

i wish it was a positive phrase is all.
i could use it more often.

what is the bane of your existence?

only wednesday

things i used to despise, that i now love:
mustard
almond joys

it felt like friday today.

kaity: "my class is so bad. we're on probation."
kirsten: "what does that mean?"
kaity: "it means we don't get to go to recess or have any parties."
kirsten: "... so it's like high school."
in december, drinking horchata.
it's that time.
what is horchata anyway?
life is like riding a bicycle.
to keep your balance, you must keep moving.

have a good day dudes.

tight.

this is the tag of my sister's jacket.
how funny is that. i love it.

main problems

i rush things. i eat fast, i walk fast, i read fast, i write fast. i don't know if i've done this my whole life, or if i'm just now realizing it. i need to learn how to slow down. i don't always need to be in a hurry.

also, i sigh a lot. i don't know how long i've been doing this either. i sigh when i'm happy, sad, tired, confused, excited, hungry, just sitting there, you name it. i don't know why.

weeeird stuff.

Thursday, December 2, 2010
