november 6th

lisa mitchell is my november 6th tradition. i listened to her whole album "wonder" at work today because of one song. clean white love.

"i gave my heart on the morning of november 6th..."

hearing the actual date in a song (or movie, etc) is really cool.
also the whole album is good and sounds like my junior year of high school.

my weekend consisted of:

having a really bad cold. 

completely losing my voice.

working on sets for about 28 hours.

two 3:30am wake ups in a row = not that much sleep.

furnishing an entire house from scratch.

planning with my fellow art team members what would happen if all the film majors got stranded LOST style.

legitimately thinking that tim riggins' truck was at our second location.

after wrapping on saturday night, proceeding to sleep for 18 straight hours.

still being sick.

editing a documentary.

and catching up on homework.

it was kind of a weirdly awesome weekend.

and the same thing is going to happen next weekend too.

bring it on.

(except i could do without the nasty cold next time,

just looking at this call sheet makes me tired.

but at least i'm getting up to work on a movie and not something lame!

i'm leaving on may 1st to study abroad!

i'm going to england, france, italy, greece, germany, and austria to study art history.

i wasn't supposed to find out if i was accepted or not until december 15th, 

but i got a "congratulations" email today!

so excited. so so so so so so so excited.

experiments

experiment #1: homemade chocolate ice cream.

1 frozen banana

1/4 c. milk

1 Tbsp. cocoa

as much sugar as you want

blend it up nice.

voila. homemade chocolate ice cream that is pretty good. 

not amazing. but pretty good. i'd make it again.

experiment #2: website sounds.

i'm learning a lot about experimental media.

my professor showed us this cool website.

it's called In B Flat.

you can play any and all of the videos at the same time,

 in any order and they all sound good!

it's cool. i played with it this weekend.

we can't decide what to be for halloween

we had some fun playing dress-up tonight.

love buddies, and my lack thereof.

maybe it's just my current relationship status talking, but does it seem like everyone has a love buddy or what!? all the people are getting engaged. all the people are getting married. even all the freshmen are holding hands already. relationships. relationships everywhere.

i'm happy for all you in domestic partnerships, i am. and i am definitely not trying to get married right now. it's just sorta lame when the boy i would hold hands with lives 1,000,000 miles away in central america and i have the empty-mailbox-blues.

a missionary friend's description of trying vegemite:

Imagine dropping a dollop of crusty dark chocolate into a pool of tar. Then, retrieve that tarred chocolate with a dirty diaper, throw it into a bucket of salt, and then let it sit on the sidewalk for about three days. That's Vegemite. Don't ever try it. I feel like I should repent cause nothing so foul and profane has ever touched my lips before.

him being zach gilford. aka matt saracen.

i have been listening to RED all day. because taylor swift is wonderful.
as i was listening to "red" while at work, my mind couldn't help but wander to her "ours" music video, which features the one and only matt saracen (and which i watch almost weekly).

though my days of friday night lights marathons are over, i'm not over him yet.

(i really like state of grace and stay stay stay and i knew you were trouble. but they are all SO GOOD).
