Wake me up when September ends...

Today, I met a kid from Australia.
He greeted me with a nice friendly " 'ellou!"
Just as I hoped every Australian would.
He was very nice,
And his accent rocked hard core.

I was followed
By a boy with a video camera
From my first period class to my second period class.
I think he wanted me to feel awkward;
I don't think he expected me to dance for him.

I watched a few movie trailers today.
I cannot wait for Sherlock Holmes to come out.
Robert Downey, Jr. and Jude Law.
They will be fantastic.
500 Days of Summer looks good, too.

Song of the Day

I highly recommend "Hey, Soul Sister" by Train. It has given my life meaning today. Not really, but it's awesome. Listen to it without smiling, I dare you. By Jessica

Dreams.

Dear Coraline,
Please get out of my dreams. I'm growing weary of you.
*****
Dear Nick,
You are welcome in my dreams anytime. I hope to see you again soon.

I'm feeling lovesick, but I don't mind.

Here are my favorite Jonas lyrics. [I love pratically anything that comes out of their mouths, but these are just the favorites]
  • If it's you for me forever, if it's you and me right now, that'd be alright.
  • Your the one I think about, it's everyday, it's everynight.
  • I can't get your smile out of my mind (can't get you out of my mind), I think about your eyes all the time. Beautiful but you don't even try. Modesty is just so hard to find.
  • The black keys never looked so beautiful, and a perfect rainbow never seemed so dull.
  • When the sun forgets to shine, I'll be there to hold you through the night.
  • It's not like I don't wanna commit. I just don't know why I can't stop feeling like this.
  • Cuse an empty room can be so loud, there's too many tears to drown them out. So hold on. Hold on. When you love someone and they break your heart, don't give up on love. Have faith, restart.
  • I find my paradise, when you look me in the eyes.
  • Everyone knows it's meant to be. Falling in love just you and me, till the end of time, till I'm on her mind, it will happen. I've been making lots of plans; like a picket fence and a rose garden.
  • You. I want to fight with you. Make up tonight with you. Your much better.
  • With every strike of lightening, comes a memory that lasts.
  • I'm flooded with all this pain; knowing that I'll never hold you like I did before the storm.
  • Maybe you were just afraid, knowing you were miles away, from the place where you needed to be. And that's right here with me.
  • When you look me in the eyes, and tell me that you love me. Everything's alright, when you're right here by my side.
  • A little bit longer, and I'll be fine.
  • The world is spinning round, and there's no sign of slowing down. So won't you take a breath. Just take a breath.
  • You don't know what you've got till it's gone. And you don't know what it's like to feel so low.
  • I don't wanna fall asleep, cuse I don't know if i'll get up. And I don't want to cause scene, but I'm dying without your love. I'm beggin to hear your voice, tell me you love me too. Cuse I'd rather just be alone, if I know that I can't have you.
  • Your the remedy I'm searching hard to find, to fix the puzzle that I see inside. Painting all my dreams the color of your smile. When I find you, it will be alright.
  • I break out and I start to shake, when I hear your name I can't walk away.
  • Music's in my soul. I can hear it every day, every night, it's the one thing on my mind. Music's got control, and I'm never letting go. No, no, I just want to play my music.
  • It's like a fog that blurs the sane. It's like a vine you can't untangle. I'm freaking out.
  • I fell in love with the pizza girl, now I eat pizza every day.
  • Been feeling lost, can't find the words to say. Spending all my time stuck in yesterday. Where you are is where I want to be. Oh, next to you, and you next to me.
  • Dream of the day when the songs that you play are blasting through the speakers of your car.
  • I've been to the year 3000. Not much has changed but they lived underwater. And your great great great grandaughter is doing fine.
  • So turn right into my arms. Turn right, you won't be alone.
  • Sometimes you find it's better black and white.
  • Listen girl, you gotta be good. I don't want to hurt you, I want to kiss you!! Come over here.
  • Get a rep for breaking hearts. Now I'm done with superstars and all the tears on her guitar. I'm not bitter.
  • The future's out of focus when you're blinded by the light.
  • You, you're like driving on a Sunday. You, you're like taking off on Monday.
Okay, so I know that some of these may sound cliche or lame, but so what? They make me happy, and THAT is all that matters.

Something Vague.

Now and again it seems worse than it is,
but mostly the view is accurate.
You see your breath in the air as you climb up the stairs
to that coffin you call your apartment.
And you sink in your chair,
brush the snow from your hair
and drink the cold away.
And you are not really sure what you're doing this for
but you need something to fill up the days.
A few more hours.
There's a dream in my brain that just won’t go away.
It's been stuck there since it came a few nights ago.
And I’m standing on a bridge in the town where I lived
as a kid with my mom and my brothers.
And then the bridge disappears
and I’m standing on air,
with nothing holding me.
And I hang like a star,
freakin glow in the dark,
for all those starving eyes to see,
like the ones we’ve wished on.
Now I’m confused.
Is this death really you?
Do these dreams have any meaning?
No. No, I think it is more like a ghost
that has been following us both.
Something vague that we're not seeing,
something more like a feeling.

The first line of this song is what hits me the hardest.
Now and again, it seems worse than it is

  1. Diabetes
  2. The sibling situation
  3. School
  4. Friends

But mostly, the view is accurate.
Quite accurate.

I Love KPGR.

We are having a cereal party in radio 2 tomorrow. I'm bringing the spoons. Yeeeah.
That is a fun class. The best part is easily radio shows. I've said this before, but it's like big kid toys. I love it.
One of the best things about the whole radio/video atmosphere is how funny the people are. I am constantly on the verge of wetting myself in my B2 and B3 classes. For example, yesterday in radio, Russ was talking to the class and then a kid's cell phone rang. It got quiet and everyone looked at him disapprovingly (kind of as a joke, because Russ doesn't mind things like that). But then Ryan yelled, "Send him to the gallows!" I don't remember the last time I laughed that hard.
I love radio.

I just wanted to send a birthday shout out to one of my favorite Slytherins, Draco Malfoy.
Have a good one!

"It was a weird day; I accidentally crossdressed."

I didn't actually crossdress. But it was kind of an weird day.
1. I woke up shaking from a nightmare I had about Coraline. I dream about Coraline all the time. I really liked that movie in a weird way, but I keep having nightmares about it. I want to read the book, but I'm afraid if I read it I will never sleep again.
2. I was 15 minutes late to first period because I was playing chess in the library. Chess in the library is on the list of things I have to do at PG before I graduate. Along with riding a rolly chair down that really steep hall. I played against Brock, who is a rather cool guy. I won, by the way.
3. I researched celebrity birthdays all during 2nd period. The radio room was 170 degrees fahrenheit, literally, so we were in a computer lab researching interesting facts to talk about on our radio show. There aren't too many cool celebrities with my same birthday. Martin Luther King, Jr. That's it.
4. A kid owed me a bag of Doritos, so I got a free bag of chips. I'm addicted to chips.
5. I have a huge heat blister on my thumb. Hot glue gun. It keeps oozing toxic juices.
6. I got a flu shot. I really like them in a weird way.
7. Me and Ryan had a funny radio show. Radio shows are like the highlight of my week. You get to wear big headphones and listen to music for an hour and half. It's like big kid toys. I like it.
8. Me and Ryan bought a box of Captain Crunch. It was for a contest winner on our radio show. Then Ryan's car was out of gas and we couldn't get the gas cap to pop open. It was an ordeal.
9. We grilled burgers for dinner and roasted marshmallows. Last official day of summer. We wanted to go out with a bang.
10. Kaity got stung by two bees. I have never heard anyone scream like that. Ever. I've been stung about 8 times in my life, so I know how she felt.
11. I hardly did any homework. hehehe.
12. My wireless mouse just ran out of batteries. What? That was really weird. I've never heard of that happening.

In a sweater poorly knit

In a sweater poorly knit, and an unsuspecting smile
Little Moses drifts downstream in the Nile
A fumbling reply -- an awkward, rigid laugh
I'm carried helpless by my floating basket raft
Your flavor in my mind swings back and forth
Between sweeter than any wine, and bitter as mustard greens
And it's light and dark as honeydew and pumpernickel bread
The trap I set for you seems to have caught my leg instead
As you plow some other field and try and forget my name,
See what harvest yields, and, supposing I'd do the same
I planted rows of peas, but by the first week of July --
They should have come up to my knees but they were maybe ankle high
Take the fingers from your flute to weave your colored yarns,
And boil down your fruit to preserves in mason jars
But now books are overdue and the goats are underfed...
The trap I set for you seems to have caught my leg instead
You're a door-without-a-key, a field-without-a-fence
You made a holy fool of me, and I've thanked you ever since
If she comes circling back, we'll end where we'd begun
Like two pennies on the train track the train crushed into one
Or if I'm a crown without a king, if I'm a broken, open seed
If I come without a thing, I come with all I need
No boat out in the blue, no place to rest your head
The trap I set for you seems to have caught my leg instead
I do not exist
only YOU exist

I like these lyrics a lot. They hit a weird spot.

day, after day, after day

All I want to do right now is go lay in a field of flowers and let the sun wash over
and warm my entire body.
I want to stay there, in that one spot, for so long
So long that I'll forget my own existence.
All the worries
All the sadness
All the frantic thoughts
Will just evaporate into the air
Disappearing.
As waves disappear upon the shore.
And I will stay there
In that state of mind
Until I can convince myself that everything is back to normal

Too many people know how to push my buttons.
Whether for good, or bad.
I wish I was harder to read.
It's not like anyone will ever be able to figure me out anyways.

"I am a woman; when I think, I must speak!" -Rosalind, As You Like It

Shakespeare knew what was up. I don't think men have changed much since Shakespeare's time. Let me humor you for a moment. I would like to describe a few qualities of Demetrius from A Midsummer Night's Dream. Tell me if this doesn't remind you of a guy (or many) that you know.
1. proud/arrogant
2. a player
3. rude
4. threatens girls by being a creeper
5. sketchy
6. tries to steal another man's woman
7. pretends to love a girl

{ Here is Demetrius as played by Christian Bale}

My sister, who just studied this play in her Shakespeare class at BYU hooked me up with some great quotes that illustrate Demetrius's nasty ways.

Proud? "I say I love thee more than he can do!" 3.2.225

A Player? "Demetrius - I'll avouch it to his head - Made love to Nedar's daughter, Helena, And won her soul, and she, sweet lady, dotes, Devoutly dotes, dotes in idolatry Upon this spotted and inconstantman." 1.1.106 (Lysander)

"To her [helena], my lord, Was I betrothed ere I saw Hermia."4.1.168 (Demetrius)

Rude? "I am sick when I do look on thee." 2.1.212

A Creeper? "Let me go; Or if thou follow me, do not believe But I shall do thee mischief in the wood." 2.1.235

Tries to steal another man's woman? "Where is Lysander, and fair Hermia? The one I'll slay, theother slayeth me." 2.1.188

Pretending? "A sweet Athenian lady is in love With a disdainful youth. Anoint his eyes; But do it when the next thing he espies May be the lady." 2.1. 260 (Oberon to Puck)

"O Helen, goddess, nymph, perfect, divine! To what, my love, shall I compare thine eyne?" 3.2.137 (Demetrius under the love potion...liar)

I think we could all compare and contrast Demetrius to some guy(s) we know. Why do guys have to be like that? I wish they would be a little more like Orlando {As You Like It} sometimes.

{Orlando as played by David Oyelowo}

"Think of all the beauty still left around you and be happy." -Anne Frank

I've been such a downer lately. Here's a caboodle of things that make me oh so glad.
summer thunderstorms, sour cream and cheddar ruffles, movies, space heaters, goldfish, fountains, the beach, regina spektor, boating, winter clothes, my red sox hat, guitar hero, art museums, road trips, lists, snowboarding, Christmas lights, editing, lake powell, swimsuits, grilled cheese sandwiches, uncle Jesse, The Office, wakeboarding, salsa, "Friends", ping pong, the smell of citrus, avocados, Heath Ledger, my moccasins, sleeping, cabins, quilts, card games, stars, nice boys, otter pops, airports, libraries, the smell of coffee, kittens, bookstores, milk, Paul and Margaret (great cars), Jim Halpert, ski lodges, high school sporting events, youtube, guitar players, sharpies, golf, watercolors, dark purple nail polish, Harry Potter, reading, t-shirts, headbands, the radio, Mythbusters, glasses, St. George, Palm trees, cheeseburgers, Christmas music, trench coats, bracelets, cello, driving and singing, Pleasant Grove High School, old movies, photographs....

I could keep going, but I won't. The list could get really lengthy. I think we should all realize the good things in life, even if one little thing isn't going quite right for us.

Eavesdropping....

I'm not an intentional eavesdropper. I think people should just mind their own business. But sometimes, I overhear things. I will just be walking down the hall at school or whatever, and I will hear a snippet of the conversation of the people passing me. Sometimes they are hysterical. About a year ago, I started writing down some of the funny snippets I heard on the notepad of my phone. I found the list the other day:
"...And then he got cinnamon in my shoe!"
"...Yeah, I have licked a bullet..."
"...I love Finding Nemo. Except I hate how he is trying to find his son the whole time..."
"...It's going to be really hard to go to the bathroom like this..."
"...Dude, I haven't shaved since before Prom..."
{said by a boy} "...Uh, my cuticles are terrible..."
"...You just grabbed that hose and didn't let go..."
and my personal favorite...
"...Just because he's ripped doesn't mean he's a good fighter..."
Here is a random picture to go with all the random snippets.
It looks like this little girl 'just grabbed that hose and didn't let go.'

i wish

I really wish I could pull off short hair.
It would make getting ready so so so much easier.
I don't like having long hair in the winter, because I feel weird with my hair down when I'm wearing something with a hood.
Long hair also tends to get really staticky.
It's a real bother.
Short hair can be so cute, and it seems like so much less work than long hair.
If only.
